Have started seriously trying Nitro as a front end to Photos and I really am liking it. It is joy to use but I do get annoyed when Apple force stuff on us. For instance, there are fixed Smart Albums under Media Type but there is it seems no way to turn them off or remove images from them. I have images showing up as portraits – they are there presumably as I shot in Portrait mode in error. I can turn off the portrait flag in the image but that does not stop the image showing in the album. It is similar with Panoramas and Live Photos. Am I missing something? I appreciate this is a Photos App driven issue but wonder if there is a workaround.

    Thank you

No, there isn’t a way to do that. Media Types are auto-detected by Apple’s code and they cannot be changed. I cannot even change the media type programmatically.

I just click the triangle and collapse the tabs and ignore them. Not much else you can do.
