I’m a new user, coming to Nitro from Raw Power. I started out using Aperture then moved to Lightroom when the product was first released. But I’m now ready to leave Lightroom! What I’m doing is replicating my Lightroom workflows in Nitro to see what problems crop up.

I really have no issues with basic raw editing in Nitro. For the most part, It’s just learning to click on new things. But I think I have an issue with printing. I print about three dozen photos a year using a product called Qimage One. In Lightroom, I send an image to Qimage using a plug-in. In Apple photos, this is done via the share menu. Are there plans for adding a share menu to Nitro? I checked the roadmap but didn’t see anything about this.

A work around would be to export the photo to Apple Photos and print from there, which leads to my second question. Are there plans to add export templates to Nitro. I export for prints, for creating photo books, and for sharing online. Each one has different export parameters and its would be nice not to enter them each time.

Thanks for the great work on this product!

I tried to put a share menu into Nitro, but the Share API for Mac is very weird and doesn’t work well. Photos and Preview seem to do special Apple-only things, but perhaps it will get better in the future.

Export presets are on the list.

Does the Qimage plug-in run as a separate app? If so, you can use Export and then specify a post-export action which opens Qimage. If Qimage identifies itself as an app that can view images, then it should show up there.

Good to know that export presets are coming.

Yes, Qimage runs as a separate app. I talked to the support folk at Qimage and they suggested using the ‘Edit with external app’ function. In Apple Photos, selecting an image, right click, edit with and selecting Qimage works fine. It also works in Finder. However, Qimage doesn’t appear as an external editor in Nitro. Any way I can add it to the list?
