Possible addition to the manual re keywords

Hi Nik – my apologies if I’ve missed this but I’ve just noticed that keywords do NOT stick if you move directly to another tool in either the LH or RH control panels, only if you directly follow the instructions in the manual. This stumped me for a while as it’s not unreasonable behaviour to go directly to further editing, for example, as it appears from the list of added keywords that the new keyword is already in place.

This might be just me but I thought I’d mention it anyway.

The app might not save them as soon as you go to Edit, but as soon as you go to another image or return to the grid, it should save them.

So in general, I do not know of any cases where the app fails to save keywords for a file (eventually)

Can you list a series of steps that does not save the keywords?

Sure.

Open up a photo in One Up Mode.
Click on the Keywords Tool
Add KWs from the appropriate list. They all appear in the window above the lists
Click on the edit tool without any other action first.
Either edit or return directly to the KW tool
Check window – no keywords.

Yesterday this got worse in that even pressing V to return to grid wouldn’t save the KWs. On one occasion I rebooted Nitro and they appeared after rebooting. I’m now only entering KWs via the metadata menu which works perfectly.

Thanks – I’ll take a look. The keywords should save when you switch modes like that, so there is a bug somewhere.
