ParticipantCan’t figure out how to do this. Is it not available? For example, moving “done” edits into a “done” folder so when exports are done of only a section of a shoot it’s easier to keep track of what’s already been exported. Either within same folder or to a newly created one in the library root. Thanks 🙂

ParticipantPerhaps an “edited since last export” flag would be of value to many users?

Nik BhattKeymasterThere isn’t a feature like what you describe. “Done” is not a concept that the app has – it has no way of knowing when you are done with an edit. Conceivably the app could provide a way to set up a folder or Photo library album that you can quickly move files to (via a shortcut key). Have you seen such a feature in other apps? As far as a “edits since last export” goes, it’s certainly possible, but it’s fragile. You could be working on a project and then have to quickly output a unrelated file for someone and the flag has been reset.

ParticipantThanks, Nik. I wasn’t referring to the app itself knowing what’s done or anything AI. Just that if I had a selection of raws I wanted to move from the folder into a new one. In my case, in a shoot of 600 images I don’t edit them from 1 to 600. I generally visually scan among them for the ones I want to make presentable first, which enables me to have 20 presentable images to send in an hour rather than 8 hours later. Just a way of regrouping what is in the library into folders that make sense, either by location, or similar exposures (such as moving all the dark raws that need brightening into one folder and the ones that need lowering the exposure in a different folder. Or one folder has the raws from the 600 I want to get 90% done first, another folder might have ones that I’ll probably delete but not ready to trash them. That sort of thing. Organizing manually by progress or however I want, nothing AI. Currently I’ve been returning to the Finder, creating new bus folders and moving raws and sidecars around manually to get this, which is a sludgy way to accomplish it.
Thanks 🙂

ParticipantHave you considered using Tags? I am working on replicating my LRc workflow. I do a fast scan post shoot and mark the notable images in yellow. It’s a visual that is easy to catch. Once I am done with edits on these I mark them as green. I now know all green images are going to be exported. You could use Tags color coded in Finder, and quickly assign them in Nitro, then filter by all green.

ParticipantThanks, Michael. But my priority is to be able to reorganize the images into other folders while still editing, not so much labelling, tagging or sorting. For example, manually dragging images of a particular person from a day’s shoot into their own folder, without having to rename the images or return to the finder and do it there. As it is, the Nitro Photo library window doesn’t offer much in the way of revising the contents beyond adding or deleting or renaming. I understand Nitro isn’t a full DAM, but being able to create a new folder of a selection of RAWs while still editing, and have it separate in the library, is a helpful workflow.
