For those of you who aren’t fans of google photos or other similar photo storage sites, Immich is a self-hosted photo collection and management app/service that can be hosted on your own server by you (synology, for example) without paying fees to anyone else and having great privacy. https://github.com/immich-app

My question is: if Nitro had good access those files similar to Apple Photos – would that be a good fit? Obviously that is only one question of a bunch of questions, but I really like how developed and advanced Immich is for storing photos and videos. For all I know, it might already be possible for Nitro to access these photos by pointing Nitro to the folder on the server where they are stored for Immich. I haven’t tried it, but I might.

    Cheers.

Although I also use iCloud, all my photos come together on my Synology using Synology Photos. They are automatically uploaded and stored in Folders by month. I browse and edit them with Nitro on Mac. Seamless workflow. All I had to do is add that top level folder to the sidebar in Nitro.

I’d recommend to not have too many images in a folder because loading via network is slower. Typically I have around 100-500 photos per monthly folder which works just fine.
