    Often it would be helpful to display the filename under the thumbnails (maybe even the title if existing in the Photos library or in the exif data).

    Yes, that would be good. However, that is not something that the Photo library provides efficiently. (It’s possible to get it, but not quickly). That’s why the file name isn’t shown. The “Title” that is in Photos is not provided by Apple to 3rd party apps (I’ve asked, but the request has been rejected). I would like to improve the file name display in the future.
