RP suddenly began to crash on startup, even after powering the iPad down and back on.

So I took the generic iPad advice to delete the app and reinstall it. That worked, now the app starts normally.

BUT…where are all my photos? It looks like a fresh first-time user screen.

    – no photos
    – no folders listed down the left side
    – have I lost all my edits too? All my ratings?

Hopefully my work is not lost and there is something simple I need to do.

    Thanks
    Grant

    Hi Grant,

I’m very sorry to hear about your experience. If you are using RAW Power with the Photo library, then all of your edits and ratings are preserved after deleting the app. That’s because the data is stored in the photo library. If you use the “Files” side of the app (integration with Files.app), then deletion will remove ratings and edits because those are stored as part of the app’s documents and those are deleted when the app is.

It sounds like the library is not loading in the app, which is very odd. Please email support@gentlemencoders.com because this will take a little back and forth to figure it out.

OK I will further this via email.

But, for the public forum, what is the advice for everyone to note? If they feel they need to reinstall the app but don’t want to lose all their edits, ratings, and folder organisation in Raw Power?

    Hi.
I think it will be possible backing up some folders from files app.

Copy the contents of the RAW Power folder in Files
    Reinstall the app
    Copy the app folder back
Then use the Restore Edits feature to sync everything back up.
