ParticipantiPad Pro M2 – Working with RAW Files – File App Directory
Good Morning,I’m having some trouble performing these operations:
1. Masks shift after applying perspective (vertical, horizontal, or guided—this doesn’t happen with rotation alone). This happens whether I start with the mask and then apply perspective, or vice versa. Since they are tied to the original image, they get “stretched” as a result of the perspective adjustment (see attached image).
2. Sometimes I have to exit or return to “tile view” mode for the crop-perspective adjustment to take effect. Otherwise, moving the sliders doesn’t update the rotation and crop settings. This issue is more pronounced when masks are applied.
3. Rotating the photo is a bit choppy and sluggish making the task slow and less precise.`
4. Suggestions for future updates regarding Guided Perspective (4-points and 2 points). Currently, the points and lines obstruct visibility, making it difficult to place them correctly. Suggestion: Since this is a precision task, it would be helpful to provide greater control when positioning the 4 points. The suggestion is to make the circles transparent while aiming, or to zoom in on the area of the image where the points are placed, or both. The lines could also be much thinner, so that it’s clear which edge they follow.
I hope there are not only problem related to my system or raw file management and hope you find these suggestions helpful,
Thanks.

ParticipantI think this is a recognized bug. There is even a warning that pops up telling you to remove any cropping before masking

ParticipantOk, thanks. But also removing the crop before mask (like the visual aid that pops), the problem occurs. In both cases.

Nik BhattKeymaster1. I am able to reproduce the problem with perspective and masks. But not in every case. What works is: apply guided perspective and then add a mask. Adding a mask first and then perspective (which is a bit unusual IMO) will shift. Also, the vertical / horizontal sliders appear to mess up the mask too. Thanks for reporting the bug.
2. I don’t know about #2 – it could be a situation when the app is simply confused.
3. Rotating can be slow if the window is large. You can use the straighten tool to avoid this problem.
4. Guided Perspective already allows you to zoom in. While I can imagine transparent or thinner lines might help, they may be invisible in certain images. When I have made the lines thinner in the past, people ask for thicker ones. When they are thicker, people want them thinner. /shrugJuly 8, 2026 at 2:13 pm #149370Fabio
ParticipantThanks Nik,
1. Ok please try all combinations, the order of tasks is usually the same but in case you want to return back from an edit it would be nice to reverse the mask-perspective order.
2/3. Ok, hope for smooth workflow in the future for iPad version
4. Do you mean that I have to zoom and then pin the dot? Or there is just an automatic mode for zoom in while pointing the dot? Thanks!

Nik BhattKeymasterYou can zoom the viewer whenever you want to more precisely place the dots. On an iPad, you can just two-finger pinch – there is no special mode. There doesn’t need to be.
