ParticipantThis is almost certainly a Photos bug, not a Nitro bug, but I’m wondering if anyone has a workaround. On exporting an image from Nitro to Photos, Photos applies the time of import as the image’s capture time, replacing the original metadata. This also happens when importing to Photos from a card or via wifi connection to my camera so, as I said, it isn’t a Nitro bug.
Has anyone else struck this problem and does anyone have a fix?

Nik BhattKeymasterWhen you say “ Photos applies the time of import as the image’s capture time” where are you seeing that replaced information? Photos does have Date Created, Date Added and Date Modified.

ParticipantI’m not seeing that here, all my Nitro edited images show up in Photos with the correct date and time stamp showing.
I am using the auto export function of Nitro, accessing the Photos library directly, and letting Nitro export the edited image back to Photos.
Perhaps a different workflow might produce something different here?
Cheers

ParticipantHello,
I too am seeing exporting of edited files receive unusual date & time details.
In case it helps to know:
- Camera is a Nikon Z50 in RAW (NEF files).
- I copy the NEF files from my SD card into my iPhone, and edit the image using Nitro.
- I export from Nitro into JPEG using the option “Include All Metadata”
I took an image today (Raw NEF) at 12:34pm, and at 3:50pm edited and export it from Nitro (JPG).
Copying the files onto my PC and examining them in ExifTool I see:
- The NEF file >> DateTimeOriginal, CreateDate, ModifyDate: 2025:07:04 12:34:53
- The NEF file >> FileModifyDate: 2025:07:04 12:34:54+09:00
- The JPG file >> DateTimeOriginal, CreateDate, ModifyDate: 2025:07:04 0:34:54ÔÇ»pm
- The JPG file >> FileModifyDate: 2025:07:04 15:50:56+09:00
Note that the characters at the end of the JPG dates (ÔÇ»pm) are not a mistake on my end. Why are they there?
Also, I am in Japan, so my timezone is UTC+9I would very much like it if JPGs exported from Nitro had the same DateTimeOriginal, CreateDate, ModifyDate in the Exif data of the original NEW Raw file.
If it helps, I’d be happy to upload these photos somewhere for closer observation.
