On many cameras you have the option of shooting images with certain settings applied. On my Fuji camera, I can do a film sim, highlights/shadows, color saturation, grain, etc. Normally these are for the SOOC jpegs, however in apps like Lightroom, Capture One, Photomator, etc., you can set the app to import and render a raw file with these settings because they are included in the metadata.

I’m wondering, does Nitro (on both MacOS and iOS/iPadOS) have this capability? Or will it only use Apple’s default raw processing?

Have you had a look at this section in the manual? “Presets and LUTs.” Make your own preset and turn on the “Save as Camera Preset” option at the bottom.

Apple’s decoder does not read that information. The other (larger) apps sometimes read that data and get help from the camera manufacturer to process the image.

I am not aware of Photomator doing it since it also uses Apple’s decoder. It’s possible that they read a few fields – can you tell me specifically what they can read?

Karl’s comment about the LUTs is also valuable – I have some Fujifilm simulations in Nitro (they are not official – I made them by hand).
