Hi Nik. I have a question about the extended raw processing I’m hoping you can answer. I shoot Fuji, therefore I use Fuji compressed RAWs. The extended RAW processing allowing us to see and edit the image in Nitro, is it still using Apple’s raw engine and Nitro is just (in the best terms I can come up with) enabling MacOS/iPadOS to read the file? Or is it your own, proprietary RAW processing for the formats covered by extended, while Nitro lets Apple’s processing do the work for the formats they cover?

Good question. Nitro (and RAW Power’s) extended RAW function is able to add support for cameras and formats to Apple’s RAW engine. That support only works when you are using one of these apps (it doesn’t add support to the system as a whole, as that is not something Apple permits). This extended support means that you can use all of the same sliders that you do for Apple-supported cameras, including RAW-decoder specific ones.
