In Nitro, I can access a pCloud folder on a Mac, but not on mobile. pCloud is present in the list when I go to add file locations in Nitro. It shows up under Locations, right below On My iPad and iCloud, but pCloud cannot be selected.

The Mac version of Nitro opens and uses raws on pCloud without issue. I tried pre-downloading some files onto my iPad(still in the pCloud folder), but the folder still cannot be selected in Nitro.

I didn’t know if you knew it works on Mac and not mobile, and wondered if support can be added on mobile. The work around is to copy files out of the pCloud folder, work them, then move the sidecars onto pCloud.

Use case is working RAWs on multiple devices in a shared area. iCloud doesn’t work so well, because I store more RAWs than I have local storage for, and that makes iCloud a pain to manage

    Thanks

Yes, I’m aware of the issue. On iOS, pCloud and other cloud services work by creating plug-ins / apps that connect to Files.app. They are not accessible to apps in general.

    There are two cases:
    1) You want to access a file in pCloud – no problem – that works out of the box
    2) You want to access a folder and its contents in pCloud – big problem.

Nitro only accesses folders, because of the need to read and write sidecars. It has to be able to write new files to the folder.

To access the folder and its contents, I have to write special code that talks to pCloud. And then write special code for Dropbox, …

The app has to handle the downloading and such which is more complex because of the sidecars.

I haven’t written all of that code yet, but will at some point. I will start with iCloud Drive and then build from there.

    Interesting, thanks for the explanation.

Appreciate the reply. It’s not a must for me, and I’m just now experimenting with pCloud, not fully committed. It’s part of my exploration to leave Adobe’s cloud products.
