Move images to another folder

I’d like to bring up the idea of moving images from one folder to another without using Finder. Not sure how “popular” or relevant this is to others. For me it’s quite frequent because I use the session structure where selected Images get moved from the “Capture” folder to the “Selects” folder. (With multiple compositions per session it gets more and so on…).

I’ve adopted this also for my personal photos because using keywords exclusively didn’t work out so well.

So how about the possiblity to drag selceted images from the main window on to a folder in the sidebar? Or via a menu command or an option in the “share” dialog like “Move originals to folder…”? I can imagine that including various types of sidecar files might be a challenge.

Better file management including moving / renaming is on the roadmap. Yes, it has also has to properly move XMP files and deal with name collisions, etc. for all of the relevant files. That feature would occur after work to handle RAW+JPEG and some XMP related stuff.
