Masking Brush

Help please. Trying to mask the sky using the edge aware brush. It appears impossible as the brush picks up the various tones in the sky and only masks some of them. The creation of a mask that covers the entire sky area is therefore impossible. Tried with a linear gradient – the idea being to clean up with the edge aware brush but that failed as again the brush was not consistent.

Am I missing a trick here?

Might have solved this – it is because I am using the edge aware brush continually and as to be expected it picks up the edges of clouds etc. Using edge aware to denfine the edges of the mask and the ordinary brush to fill in seems to crack it 🙂

Glad you got it working. What you did is exactly right. Use the edge brush to capture the edge of the sky and then paint with edge-aware off. I do exactly that in the videos I make for the app.
