Is there any way to make the crop tool default to freeform? It’s pretty much the only setting I ever use and it’s a dealkiller to change it from original for every image. Can’t find it pin the manual. Hoping I’m missing it somewhere 🙂

    Thanks.

I hope I am not speaking out of turn, but I recall testing that:), and liking that the app remembers what you last used. It is already in Beta test. Nik read your mind

I’m also a fan of this request, as defaulting to “original format” is, for me, an annoyance in this and other photo editing software. Choosing my own default (most frequently, freeform) and having it stick, would make this perfect.

    thanks for making this request.

The app currently has two preferences for crop. The first lets you decide if the crop always start with the original aspect ratio. That setting is ON by default. If you turn that off, then it will use the last aspect ratio for the next crop. So do a freeform crop and then the next image will start with a freeform crop.

The second setting controls if the crop automatically rotates for the orientation of the image.
