I’m loving the speed with which I can rate, reject and flag images in Nitro. I’d love a way to assign some kind of grouping: keywords, tags or use albums.

I read the discussion of the problems of tagging because of the way macOS and iOS implement tags, and I haven’t managed to get tags to work on either macOS or iOS. My suggestion is to allow keyboard shortcuts for some albums – so, for example, by hitting ‘shift – 1’ I could assign an image to my ‘Landscapes’ album. This would be similar to how Aperture allows your most popular keywords to have keyboard shortcuts applied. Thanks for considering the possibility.

(My apologies if this has already been discussed, but I can’t find a way to search the forum, and my apologies if I’ve missed something obvious.)

    With all best wishes,

    Steve

Thanks for your suggestion. It has not been discussed before. I’ll make a note – that said, it sounds different from having keyboard shortcuts for keywords, since you are moving images into albums, but I understand the idea. We should try to get tags to work for you though – please email support@gentlemencoders.com and I can try to help you.

Thanks for the offer of help – I’ll email. In terms of ‘moving photos into albums’ versus ‘tagging’ – you’re right that they are a bit different, but as photos can live in multiple albums, in the same way photos can have multiple tags, I think that is similar. One difference is that you can’t generally see a list of the albums that a photo is in, whereas generally you can see the tags on an image – I think that might be the key difference.
