Hi,
I’m currently trying to figure out my RAW+JPEG workflow, and after what trying about every photo app on the market I found that Nitro seems to be the closest to perfect due to how it handles RAW+JPEG stacking in the photos library. The only problem is that my iPad only has 64GB, minus iOS, apps and system files there’s only about 35-40GB left for photos, so it’s more suitable as a working directory rather than a library. Currently I import to, cull and edit on the photo library and then export originals with XMP sidecars to an external SSD, after that I delete them from the photo library.
Ideally, I’d skip the iPad storage entirely and work just on external storage, importing the photos straight from the SD card to the external SSD so I’d never be restricted by running out of internal storage. The feature I’m missing is being able to rate and flag RAW+JPEG pairs together rather than individually.
I know it’s already been requested to implement RAW+JPEG stacking in files and that this is probably not a short term item. What would greatly help though is if Nitro would just be able to sync ratings between RAW+JPEG pairs. So I could have all my photos on the external drive, filter by JPEG for culling, apply all my ratings and flags, and for deletion I would filter by rejected and that would delete both rejected JPEG and RAWs together. Is this something that could be on the horizon at some point?
Kind Regards
Marius
