Lightroom requires you to read the metadata manually. There is a menu item for reading metadata from a file. I don’t have LR in front of me right now, so I cannot give you the exact menu, but if you look for “Metadata” in the menus, I think you will find it. In the past there was a preference to sync XMP (both ways) but I think they removed it.
