Nitro 2025.4 Has Been Released (+ RAW Power Updates)

I just released version 2025.4 of Nitro along with matching updates for RAW Power on macOS and iOS.

You can get the updates on the App Store along with the release notes.

Nitro has a bunch of new stuff, including the hierarchical keyword feature.

  1. Thanks for the update!

    It would be very useful to have a link to Nitro’s web page, for those of us considering buying it.

    It’d also be nice to have a way to view the release notes that’s not on the App Store. After opening the App Store app, searching for Nitro, finding the What’s New section… it appears to be unformatted Markdown, which means there’s no way to click or even copy the link to the YouTube video.

    Sorry, don’t mean to be a dick! Nitro looks great, and I just want it to be easy to find out more about it.

  2. Unfortunately, the App Store does not permit links in the descriptions or release notes – just plain text. I used to maintain a separate release notes page on the website, but it became a pain to update with all the different languages. Perhaps I’ll try again with Nitro.

    Here are the notes:
    NEW FEATURES
    * Keywords:
    * Add New Keyword
    * File System: read, modify, filter, and export keywords
    * Photo Library: read, filter, make smart albums
    * Please watch the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHiGql27KWU)
    * The feature supports hierarchical keywords, batch keywords, auto-complete, favorites, multiple keyword lists, and more.
    * AI-based automatic keywording
    * When exporting originals from Photo Library, copy keywords to XMP.
    * Bottom of the grid view now has buttons to increase and decrease thumbnail size.

    USABILITY:
    * The Info panel now fully scrolls
    * Added “Toggle Overlay” command for masking with shortcut key
    * Reveal the last used preset or LUT automatically

    CAMERAS:
    * Fujifilm GFX100RF, Panasonic S1R Mark II, Sony A1 Mark II

    BUG FIXES:
    * Fix bug where camera presets would disappear.
    * add UK English for some strings
    * Mac: Updated version of ExifTool
    * Fix appearance of Hi-Res E-M1 Mark III images
    * Fix two crashes.
    * Fix Levels so that the midpoint automaticaly moves when moving black or white controls
    * Improve performance when exporting originals from file system to the Photo Library, when the Photo Library is large.
    * Improve user experience with Borders and Watermarks and fix bugs picking colors in those interfaces.
    * Bug: If you are in n-up or compare mode, the menu item to switch to One-Up did not work.
    * Fix hang when exporting a video from the file system to the Photo Library.
    * Fix bug exporting originals with metadata – if the file only had a rating or a flag, it would not write the XMP file.
    * Mac: Fix bug with Edit with External Editor – if you sent the original, you cannot export after that without quitting / relaunching.
    * Fix bug with export to photo library (making a new image) – if you hit cancel in the photo library picker, it would not allow future exports.

  3. I don’t want to demand anything that’s going to make your life more difficult. Annoying of Apple that you can’t even copy text (or a URL) out of the release notes!
