I can see no contradiction between applying the Auto enhance function in the current way with the intensity slider applied on a single picture and to offer the opportunity to use it in a different way with a standard setting on a collection of images. And as I wrote, for me at least, the ability to apply just default (or specified) specific adjustments one at the time on the a collection would be a great way to use automatic settings in controlled way
I also think that the option to exclude effect in addition to Levels and white balance would greatly add to the flexibility of the slider adjustment functionality.Ingvar ThorssonParticipantThanks, interesting
Based on the lack of official Apple support for color tags with third party apps, would it be s good idea to avoid to be dependent on this functionality?Ingvar ThorssonParticipantI understand, but I still think that the mobile interface as an option when in vertical orientation would be a nice extra bonus for iPad, if it is not to difficult to implement. The interface of the mobile app differs depending on orientation, I can see no problem with that implementation it is quite good, even if the horizontal mode is even more cramped on the phone
Ingvar ThorssonParticipantThanks
Yes I know, actually part of my workflow
What I am actually trying to achieve is some way to facilitate a form of a basic versioning functionality without creating copies, something I really miss I Nitro, but that I understand is difficult to achieve in a system lacking a catalogue function
I also have tried other variations on this theme such as xmp name swapping file copies (thinking about an external tool for this)
Another thing I have tried to explore is the possibility to create versions by “commenting out” relevant parts of the xmp file structure.
It is really fun to be able to play around with these odd activities without risking any impact on the core functionality of the application. I understand that this would add extra complexity for the application and perhaps user confusion, I keep it for myselfIngvar ThorssonParticipantI am aware of that, but that was not really what I wanted
As far as I understand the current options are:
Save a NEW image to photos
Save a NEW to the file system
Copy the image + adjustments to the file systemWhat I asked about was the creation of a just a metadata file linked to an already existing file (referenced by photos) in the file system, referable with the file reference used by photos by default
Ingvar ThorssonParticipantThanks
FYI LUT to adjustment functionality is implemented in Photomator so it is obviously possible to achieve (might require a substantial effort though…)Ingvar ThorssonParticipantIf this is the case I also assume that Apple prohibits the workaround to initiate a photos import from an external app as well…
